The Consulting Engineers Council of the Philippines (CECOP) was organized in October 1976. Nine local engineering firms doing consulting business in the Philippines constituted the founding members of the Council.
A smaller group within CECOP was later formed, consisting only of members who were exclusively consultants and not at all engaged in construction. This paved the way for the group named, Council of Engineering Consultants of the Philippines (CECOPHIL), to become the official Philippine affiliate of the Fédération Internationale des Ingénieurs Conseils (FIDIC).
The Council of Engineering Consultants of the Philippines or CECOPHIL is considered as one of the leading organizations of its kind in the local consulting industry, consisting of very active and well-established Filipino and multi-national engineering firms doing various technical consulting work for both the government and private sectors here and abroad. CECOPHIL is the Member Association of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) in the Philippines. CECOPHIL continues to serve, as a proactive advocate of FIDIC’s professional and ethical requirements of the independent engineering consultancy. CECOPHIL has earned its place as the consulting sectoral leader in the dynamics of the Philippine Construction Industry.
CECOPHIL is now composed of 23 regular members and 1 affiliate member. While the numbers are deceivingly small, CECOPHIL records an aggregate engineering population under the direct employ of its member firms.
The core purpose of CECOPHIL is to facilitate the development of member firms towards global competitiveness and to be a major player in the dynamics of the construction industry.
CECOPHIL and its members will achieve the core purpose while adhering to the values of PROFESSIONALISM, INTEGRITY, andOBJECTIVITY.
